1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Quotelo ("we," "us," "our"), operated by Lucas Leong in Vancouver, BC, Canada, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit quotelo.ca or submit a quote request. We are committed to handling your personal information responsibly and in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA).
2. Information We Collect
When you submit a quote request through our Request Quotes form, we may collect: your name and contact information (email, phone), your city within the Greater Vancouver Area, property type, whether you own or rent, parking type, current charger/charging status, electrical panel size (if known), distance estimates, installation timeline, any additional notes you choose to provide, and photos or images of your electrical panel or parking area if you choose to upload them.
If you contact us directly by email, we collect whatever information you include in that message (such as your name, email address, and the content of your inquiry).
We do not currently use cookies, analytics tools, or advertising trackers on this site.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to: prepare a structured project summary for potential contractor matches, communicate with you about your quote request, respond to your inquiries, and improve our guides and tools based on common questions or feedback. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. How We Share Your Information
We may share a general summary of your project (without your name or contact details) with electrical contractor partners so they can express interest in your project. We only share your full name and contact information with a contractor after they confirm interest in your project and after we have your consent to proceed. Outside of this process, we do not share your personal information with third parties except: (a) where required by law, or (b) with service providers who help us operate the site (see Section 5).
5. Third-Party Services
Our quote request form is hosted and processed by Tally (tally.so), a third-party form provider; information you submit through that form is subject to Tally's own privacy policy. Our email is hosted through Google Workspace. These providers may process your information as part of delivering their service to us, but we do not authorize them to use your information for their own marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain quote request information for as long as reasonably necessary to facilitate contractor matching, respond to your inquiry, and maintain accurate records, after which it is deleted or anonymized. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 8).
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information you provide from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, withdraw your consent to having your information shared with contractors, and request that we delete your information. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@quotelo.ca and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca).
9. Children's Privacy
Quotelo's services are intended for adults seeking home improvement quotes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
